Mark David Montague, the beloved son of Nancy and David Montague of Menlo Park, died of unknown causes July 19, 2010 while diving at Laguna Beach, California. He was 42. Mr. Montague was a native of Menlo Park, where he attended local schools, graduating from Menlo-Atherton High School in 1985. A graduate of California Institute of Technology, and a resident of Altadena California, he was a computer graphics engineer, with a wide range of technical interests including marine biology and space dynamics. His hobbies included hiking, scuba diving, sailing, skiing, building and fixing anything and restoring a Ford Mustang as old as he was. Montague, known to his friends as "Monty" was bright and curious, a talented and respected computer graphics engineer with a wide range of technical interests including the neurobiology of cephalopods. At CalTech Monty helped develop and maintain the computer graphics laboratory under Professor Al Barr. He trained and volunteered as an Emergency Medical Technician. He worked as an independent contractor at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, and at Evryx Technology on object recognition software development. With his wry sense of humor, and readiness to help others, he touched many lives in a positive way, and is fondly remembered by all who knew him. A celebration of Mark's life was held at Cal Tech in Pasadena on what would have been his 43rd birthday, October 2 2010. His final resting place is at Sky Lawn Memorial Park in San Mateo, CA
